THE AMENDMENTS TO THE PENSION AND DISABILITY INSURANCE LAW

Serbian Parliament adopted the amendments to the Pension and disability insurance law. The amendments were published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia no. 75/2014 on 21st July 2014. The amendments shall enter into force on 1st of January 2015.

The biggest novelty that the amendments are introducing is the institute of the “premature old-age pension”. In accordance with the new institute, the category of “old-age pension” has been redefined in terms of conditions for the realization of this right.

The amendments equate conditions of retirement for both men and women and introduce the possibility for both sexes to realize the right for premature old-age pensions.

The amendments harmonize and successively rectify the condition for the realization of this right regarding the age limit which has been raised.
