MEMEDIATION IN THE BUSINESS – OUT-OF-COURT DISPUTE RESOLUTION TOWARDS A FAVORABLE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT

Within the framework of the Economic Development Cooperation Project, under the auspices of the USAID, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Serbia and the “Partners Serbia” Association, Jelena Plamenac from the Vukovic and Partners Law Office was one of the participants in a panel discussion organized on the topic “Mediation in Business – Extra-judicial resolving disputes towards a favorable business environment. “

Panel discussions were organized in Kragujevac, Pirot and Subotica, during March and April, and along with Jelena, panelists were Ana Toskic, executive director of Partners Serbia for Democratic Change, Gordana Milojevic, mediator from Kragujevac, and Ivan Milosavljevic from the USAID.

Topics discussed included the basic principles of mediation, the relationship between mediation and court proceedings, and the identification of disputes eligible for settlement out of court.
Emphasis is placed on the fact that mediation is first and foremost a mechanism for maintaining good business relations with business partners and associates.
