SERBIA ADVANCES ON DOING BUSINESS LIST 2020 – VP TEAM MEMBERS COLLABORATED ON THE WORLD BANKS PROJECT
In the World Bank’s latest Doing business list, Serbia has advanced four places and is now ranked as 44th out of total 190 countries ranked by ease of doing business.
In four areas: “Registration of Property Rights”, “Contract Execution”, “Credit Access” and “Protection of Rights of Minority Investors”, attorneys from Vukovic & partners team have been World Banks contributors on the Doing Business 2020 project.
The NALED Real Estate and Urban Planning Alliance, whose Vice President is Dejan Vukovic, our managing partner, contributed greatly by proposing amendments to the law. Among other things, when adopted those amendments made the procedure for issuing a building permits much faster. In that area Serbia now ranks 9th in the list. In the area of “Property Rights Registration” as a contributor to the World Banks project Dejan Vukovic, our managing partner, worked on a case study analysis with members of the real estate team – Jovan Capakovic, partner and manager of the department and Dejan Plamenec senior attorney at law. Dejan Vukovic was also a contributor in the field of “Protection of Minority Investor Rights” working on it with Srdjan Gligo, partner and manager of the VP Corporate department.
In the areas of „Contract Execution“ and „Credit Approach“, as a contributor Predrag Miladinovic, partner and manager of VP Banking and Finance department, worked on the case studies with attorneys Aleksandra Draganic, Marina Bijeljic and Jelisaveta Janic.
