The Insolvency Law Association held its second annual conference on 18 and 19 June 2024 at the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. The event’s ten panels were devoted to pressing issues of company, insolvency, business, banking, and enforcement law, as well as other legal areas. The conference was attended by lawyers, insolvency administrators, enforcement officers, judicial officials, businesspeople, and academics.

Višnja Mandić, Partner Attorney at Law with VP Law Firm and member of the Insolvency Law Association, represented our firm in the panel dedicated to insolvency of banks and insurance companies. The panel was moderated by Dr Marko Radović, judge of the Belgrade Commercial Court and associate professor at Union University School of Law, and also included as speakers Branko Damjanović, Head of Legal, Human Resources, and General Affairs at the Association of Serbian Insurers, and Dr Miloš Radovanović, Collection Manager for the Eastern Adriatic Region at Scania Leasing.

The event not only helped enhance knowledge, but also fostered discussion of the needs for improving the legislative framework and good practice with regard to insolvency law. The participation of a variety of public and private stakeholders promoted the exchange of ideas and experiences that is key for continued strengthening of this crucial area of law in Serbia.
